Heh! Fair enough, and thank you for indicating interest.

I really enjoyed the slice-of-life take on a near future that overlapped well with the present. The tech wasn't a giant leap forward, but that allowed the author to address the question of "How will things be when we have this capability," in a fine-grained way, than "How would things be if we had this capability?"

It resonated with me in 1998 when my family had only recently got a computer, and it resonates with me now, as reflecting some aspects of my online life (people you know 'through the net', and through their shared hobbies and preferences, with many other aspects of their lives invisible or pared away; the sense of almost net nationhood.

The first time I read it I latched onto the positive aspects of the network. Reading it later the negative aspects struck me. Both are present for me in each re-reading, and I like that very much too.
